Homebrew Coding Weekend #2

If you're interested or involved in the creation of new games for old computers and consoles, then you'll find yourself very welcome at the second ever Homebrew Coding Weekend!

This get-together of coders and other creative minds forms part of In Da 80s and will take place in the 'Snug' within The Lass O'Gowrie. The purpose of the meetup is to provide an open, friendly environment where retro coding tips and ideas can be exchanged.

The agenda is fairly open, but some of the things that we think might be worth covering include:

• Demonstrations and recommendations of both "modern" PC-based development tools (e.g. IDEs, Assemblers etc) as well as "classic" utilities (e.g. Sprite editors)
• Hints and tips on how to squeeze the most out of a particular platform (e.g. undocumented instructions, video-chip tricks, maximising RAM)
• Brainstorming sessions for the development of new games
• The examination of some unreleased game blueprints, with a view to whether they can finally be implemented.

Ultimately it will be left to you, the attendees, to determine the scope and direction of the weekend. So if you have any topics that you'd like to see covered, feel free to send us a message using the Contact Form on this website.

To gain entry to the Homebrew Coding Weekend, you simply need to buy a regular ticket for In Da 80s then email dllm@usa.net to confirm your attendance.

There's no obligation to attend both days and it's expected that Saturday will be the busier of the two.

So whether you're a 'Homebrew Hero' with a rich catalogue of titles to your name, or are only just getting to grips with 6502/Z80/68k: it would be great to see you at the Homebrew Coding Weekend.
